I solve problems through creative concepts.

My art director story started as a junior in college. At that time I was working towards a drawing and painting major. I was also watching my colleagues graduate with their painting degrees to wait tables every night so that they could stand blurry eyed in front of their easels the next morning before slugging on to the next shift. My yellow light went on and without any discussion I switched my major to graphic design and pressed go.

About a month into my silent decision I was approach by my painting professor and mentor who practically spit these words, “So you’re going to design soap boxes for a living!”

If I could see him today I would get on that soap box with a few choice replies.

Like how I went on to spend over 3 decades designing campaigns from congressional candidates to drill bits.

Like how I was able to help raise and support my sons through school and all those lessons and all those shoes.

Like how I was able to work freelance with a political consultant for decades helping to elect public figures to office.

Like how I was able to adjust my work to include a studio practice producing paintings and sculptures and exhibiting in New York’s Hudson Valley and New York City.

Like how I learned the power of collaboration and how we made magic.

Like how all those never-ending-late-nights spent brainstorming for the perfect idea has made me a better artist.

Like how digging deep for the perfect concept and finding mad associations between a client’s project and the real world or the made-up world developed a joy of discovery in me which applies to every facet of my life today.

Like how I finally figured out that I am a better person for living-and-breathing concepts and making beautiful art.

Like how work became play and engaged my mind endlessly.

OK. OK. Rant over.

" How do you want your burger cooked?”
